| Karl Gerckens, founder and operator of Craftsman Karl Kitchens, is a Montclair State University
graduate, class of 1982. The trades name "Craftsman Karl" was thus established after he graduated, in order to turn his love of wood working into a profession. Although Craftsman Karl didn't enter the professional world until after he graduated, he began
remodeling
homes several years earlier, to help pay for his education.
Initially, Karl focused on a wide array of areas, including furniture repair/refinish, custom made kitchen cabinet refinish/reface, custom countertops, custom wood working, and interior custom
remodeling. In 1983, Karl became a certified Dupont-Corian fabricator, and in 2000 and 2001, Karl won the Yorktown Circle Success- Silver Level Award, for his outstanding kitchen renovations.
As impressive as much of his history may appear, Karl could never have done it without his "dream team". Karl's dream team consists of several highly qualified contractors, including licensed plumbers and electricians, and master tile setters. Karl and his dream team are all licensed by the NJ building code. The Craftsman Karl Kitchens staff is both professional and agreeable, providing a very pleasant atmosphere. When working in your home, Karl and his team will try to disrupt your routine as little as possible, by working in a safe and clean job site.
